Samsung Electronics and 19 affiliated companies are conducting open recruitment for entry-level employees in the second half of 2026.
Not everyone takes the same test just because they submitted an application.
The selection process differs for software and design positions, so applicants should first review the procedure for the specific position they are applying for.

Samsung Electronics and 19 affiliated companies, applications accepted through 15
On September 7, Samsung announced open recruitment for entry-level employees in the second half of the year at 19 affiliated companies, including Samsung Electronics, Samsung C&T, and Samsung Biologics. Applicants submit their applications to the company they wish to join through Samsung Careers, the Samsung recruitment website, from September 8 through 15.
In addition to Samsung Electronics, the participating companies include Samsung Display, Samsung SDI, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Samsung SDS, Samsung Life Insurance, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, Samsung Card, Samsung Securities, Samsung Heavy Industries, Samsung E&A, Hotel Shilla, Cheil Worldwide, S-1, Samsung Medical Center, and Samsung Welstory. For applicants looking for Samsung Electronics hiring information, it is more important to confirm that the company and position they intend to apply for are set correctly on the actual selection screen than to know that several affiliated companies are conducting open recruitment together.
September job evaluation, October GSAT, November interviews
The announced schedule proceeds in the order of a job suitability assessment in September, the Samsung Global Aptitude Test (GSAT) in October, interviews in November, and a health examination. This was announced as the overall schedule for the open recruitment process and does not mean that an individual applicant will pass the selection process or ultimately be hired.
Samsung said that, after introducing open recruitment for new employees in 1957, it has continued the system for 70 years as of this year. Reports by the Kyunghyang Shinmun and JoongAng Ilbo said that Samsung is the only one among the four major groups—Samsung, SK, Hyundai Motor, and LG—to maintain regular open recruitment for entry-level employees. However, the continuation of this system is not a figure indicating the hiring scale in this recruitment drive or an individual applicant’s likelihood of passing.
Software requires a practical test; design requires portfolio review
The most important point to watch in the selection process is the difference by job group. Applicants for software (SW) positions take a practical SW competency test instead of GSAT. Applicants for design positions do not take GSAT and are selected through a design portfolio review.
Therefore, making a preparation plan based only on the GSAT schedule may not fit the position, depending on the job. Applicants should distinguish and check the selection process presented in the announcement according to whether the position is in SW, design, or another job group.
Samsung said it plans to work to expand domestic investment and youth hiring in advanced industries such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), biotechnology, batteries, and displays. This is an announcement concerning the company’s plans and direction; it does not disclose the number of people to be selected by position or placement plans for this recruitment drive.
