The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that Charani retained the No. 1 spot in the women’s T20I bowling rankings and rose to a personal-best rating of 804. Charani is a left-arm spin bowler who conceded 20 runs while taking 4 wickets against Sri Lanka in the women’s Asia Cup final at Dubai International Stadium.
This is the highest women’s T20I ranking mark by an Indian player. India’s previous highest score was 780, recorded by Mithali Raj in the batting rankings in 2011. Charani surpassed it and moved within 2 points of the all-time highest rating for a women’s T20I bowler, 806. That record was set by Australia’s Megan Schutt in November 2018.

Nandani Sharma climbed 10 places to No. 94, and Prema Rawat rose 50 places to No. 96. Nandani Sharma’s tournament economy rate was 4.64 runs per over.
In the batting rankings, Shafali Verma rose from 7th to 6th. She became the tournament’s leading run-scorer with 236 runs at the Asia Cup, including 64 in the semifinal and 68 in the final. Verma’s rating is 741 points, her highest figure since October 2021.
Her teammate Smriti Mandhana scored 213 runs in 5 innings to retain 5th place with 745 points. The gap between Verma and Mandhana is one place in the rankings and 4 rating points. Verma also rose 5 places to 15th in the all-rounder rankings, recording a personal-best 221 points.
Changes Among Players from Other Countries Also Reflected
Sri Lanka’s Nilakshika Silva rose 1 place to 44th in the batting rankings after scoring 108 runs at the Asia Cup.
