Although “ea” was observed in Taiwan’s search market, this does not indicate where the event took place.
At the center of this interest are Electronic Arts (EA)’s soccer game EA Sports FC 27 and the competitive tournament FC Pro 27.
It is worth examining how far the new content available in the game—and the path toward the professional stage—will extend.
3-line summary
1. Expanded league and stadium partnerships have been announced for FC 27
2. The FC Pro 27 season prize pool is 250 man dollars (250 units of 10,000 dollars)
3. The announcement details and actual access requirements should be considered separately
FC Pro 27’s first gateway, starting September 21
According to EA, the FC Pro 27 season begins on September 21, with a total season prize pool of 250 man dollars (250 units of 10,000 dollars). The goal is to qualify for the FC Pro World Championship, the final tournament of the season. Players cannot go straight to the world championship; they must first pass through the in-game ladder and several stages of qualification.
The first stage, the FC Pro Open Ladder, runs for 13 days, from September 21 through October 3. Since it takes place within the Ultimate Team mode of EA Sports FC 27, EA says no separate external-site registration is required. Players who reach Division Rivals Division 5 or higher during the tournament period can participate through the FC Pro tab in the Ultimate Team Play menu.
The ladder remains open 24 hours a day, with skill ratings rising and falling based on match results and opponents’ ratings. Qualification is determined not by the rating at the end of the period, but by the highest skill rating recorded during it. This means that, rather than one poor performance, the key factor is how high a player climbs during the tournament period.
However, the platforms eligible for the next stage are differentiated. In-game rewards are available to users on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, but only PlayStation 5 competitors can advance to the regional qualifiers. A total of 1,376 (1376) players across 10 regions advance from the ladder to the regional qualifiers, and the top 500 players in each region receive in-game rewards.
The path narrows from 1,376 players to the London stage
The regional qualifiers take place online on October 10–11. The 1,376 players who pass the ladder compete in their respective regions for 52 spots in the global qualifiers. The Swiss format is planned for the first day, followed by a double-elimination bracket on the second day.
The subsequent FC Pro Open Global Qualifier takes place in London, United Kingdom, from November 5 through 7. The 52 players who pass the regional qualifiers compete alongside 12 invited players. After that, 16 players advance to the FC Pro Open and join the top 8 players from the previous season; another 8 players then secure qualification for the World Championship through that tournament.
EA also presented the FC Pro Open Cup, FC Pro League, licensed events, and the World Championship Last Chance Qualifier as routes to the season finals. In addition, residents of Bahrain, Jordan, Libya, and Oman become eligible to participate starting this season, and the four countries are included in the Middle East region. This is an announcement expanding participation for residents of those countries; it does not mean that every user can follow the same route.
Liga MX and “The Grounds” are coming to FC 27
Expanded game content has also been announced for FC 27. Electronic Arts said that all 18 clubs in Liga BBVA MX, Mexico’s top-flight soccer league, will join under official licenses. It also explained that SS Lazio is returning to Italy’s Serie A Enilive, bringing the number of officially licensed clubs to 17.
The English Premier League has announced that its 20 clubs, managers, stadiums, kits, commentary, and more can be experienced exclusively in FC 27. The game will also include extended partnerships with Germany’s Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2, Saudi Arabia’s Roshn Saudi League, and Australia’s A-League. The A-League said it plans to reflect updated squads and kits after the season begins in October.
Stadiums are also being added. AS Monaco’s Stade Louis II, Real Oviedo’s Estadio Carlos Tartiere, and Legia Warsaw’s municipal stadium are planned for implementation in FC 27. The game will also recreate Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium and VfB Stuttgart’s MHPArena.
FC 27 for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 is scheduled to become playable worldwide on September 25, while the Ultimate Edition and Ultimate Plus Edition will be available early starting September 18. The Switch 2 version supports HDR, touch controls, GameChat and Share, and the new social soccer space The Grounds, and requires 66.5GB of available storage. Since the new features and partnerships reflect the announced configuration, it is safest to confirm before purchasing which features are available on the device and edition you use.
