They also mentioned the risk of flash floods caused by rising water levels in rivers and streams, as well as possible disruptions to electricity and drinking-water supplies and to rail, aviation, and helicopter operations.
Authorities advised pilgrims, tourists, and commuters to avoid unnecessary travel and access to vulnerable areas. They also explained that helicopter services to Kedarnath Dham could be suspended as a precaution if cloudy conditions or severe weather worsened flight conditions. Authorities were also advised to consider school closures and the suspension of construction work and mountaineering expeditions.
