The students reportedly gave meaning to the colors of their costumes with the intention of creatively showing the abundance of nature, culture, and tradition. In front of the stage, they performed a dance called Rukun Sama Teman, and at the end made a symbolic gesture of watering Kantong Semar. Antara News Bangka Belitung reported that the school had continued taking part in the August 17 carnival for the past three years.
