The 300만-Euro Weekly Quiz Show (Wer wird Millionär?), with 1만6천 Euros Deciding Who Reached the Final

On RTL’s quiz show “Wer wird Millionär?”, one question determined not only the prize money but also advancement to the final stage.

In the first episode of the “300만-Euro Special,” broadcast on October 5, 1만6천 Euros was the threshold for advancing to Thursday’s final.

Contestants had to accept different outcomes, whether they answered correctly or stopped to protect their winnings.

3-Line Summary
1. 1만6천 Euros was the advancement threshold.
2. One contestant dropped to 500 Euros.
3. The advancement requirement had to be considered alongside the prize money.

Contestants Divided by the 1만6천-Euro Question

According to T-Online, in the first episode broadcast on October 5, one female contestant missed the 1만6천-Euro question and dropped to 500 Euros. Had she passed this question, she could have advanced to Thursday’s final, but she chose the wrong answer to a question about North Sentinel Island, an Indian territory. It reported that this was the only case in that episode of a contestant dropping as far as 500 Euros.

Another contestant chose car registration as the subject of fees imposed by German authorities in the 6만4천-Euro question, but the correct answer was the German passport. This contestant’s winnings fell from 3만2천 Euros to 1만6천 Euros, but still surpassed the advancement threshold. Thus, even when a contestant gave a wrong answer on a high-value question, the result varied depending on the relationship between the amount already secured and the advancement threshold.

A contestant who missed the 3만2천-Euro question asking about Slovenia’s Mount Triglav had already secured 1만6천 Euros and was therefore able to return for the final. Another contestant who quit the quiz on the 3만2천-Euro question about the function of antiemetic medication also earned the right to compete in the final by protecting 1만6천 Euros.

The Second Night: A Contestant Who Protected 3만2천 Euros

n-tv reported that contestants aged 30 and over took on the quiz in the second broadcast of the “300만-Euro Week.” Doctor Franziska Burkhardt received 500 Euros after choosing the wrong answer to a question about the mascot of the 2026 World Cup. During the answer-selection process, host Günther Jauch mentioned the koala’s habitat and identified the answer as incorrect.

Astrid Baus, from Petersberg in Hesse, used jokers and general knowledge to reach 3만2천 Euros, but decided not to risk that amount. Petra van Triel, Marcel Zeiderer, and Amadeus Opitz all reached the 1만6천-Euro question and earned eligibility to advance to the final. Among them, Zeiderer finished the broadcast with 6만4천 Euros, n-tv reported.

The number to watch in this special is 1만6천 Euros, rather than the top prize. For the contestants, it was not simply an intermediate prize but the threshold for moving on to the next stage. However, the actual result of Thursday’s final has not been confirmed.
