Bus returning from Contagem overturned
According to G1, the tourist bus departed from Contagem, Minas Gerais, traveled to the coast of Espírito Santo, and overturned while returning. The accident occurred on a section of Ibatiba’s BR-262 known as “Curva da Ferradura.”
G1 reported that 3 people, including the driver, Douglas Rodrigues de Souza Oliveira (38), died in the accident on September 27. Vera Lucia de Andrade (44) and Maria Aparecida Martins Barbosa were also named among the dead. Many passengers were injured and transported to local hospitals.
The driver’s mother and aunt visited a funeral facility in Belo Horizonte on the 28th and began the funeral arrangements. The family was waiting for the release of the bodies by the Espírito Santo Forensic Medical Institute and planned to transport them afterward to Minas Gerais.
